Peter Wilkes, founder of New Roots Herbal, began working in the health-food industry in 1973, at the first natural foods co‑op in Montreal. In 1977, Peter opened a very successful health-food store in Calgary, which was the largest store of its kind in North America at that time. The name New Roots Herbal symbolizes a rejuvenation of the body and mind, a changing of lifestyles from old harmful habits to healthy new beginnings. The company’s mission is to produce the most therapeutic nutraceutical formulas designed for the prevention and cure of disease.

New Roots Herbal originally began with only one product—a body rejuvenation program—and has grown into a multinational company that offers over 325 different natural health products, sold in over 11 countries and 8,000 locations. 

In 1995 New Roots Herbal expanded its business to Europe, making the products available in countries like Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. 

We guarantee highest quality and purity of our products. They are manufactured according to the internationally acknowledged GMP Good Manufacturing Process standards. 

Our products are free of artificial additives (flavouring, colorants, preservatives) and whenever possible we evade allergens (milk derivates, gluten, starch) and sugar. All raw materials are of controlled cultivation, GMO-free, generally organic or wild-crafted. 

We invest over 600 hours per week testing thousands of raw material samples prior to inclusion in every New Roots product. They are tested for identity, purity and potency to verify the accuracy and integrity of every certificate of analysis. 

Our in-house laboratory is one of the most advanced ones in Canada (ISO 17025 accreditation) and produces the most therapeutic, highest quality formulas in the world! Our research and analytical testing is done by a highly skilled team of 3 PhDs, 4 MScs, 8 BScs and a group of naturopathic doctors. We take pride in ensuring that all our products surpass industry and government standards.
