Breaking the vicious cycle between dysbiosis, SIBO and parasites
Webinar recording
The gut microbiome exhibits many physiological functions, such as forming the intestinal epithelium, maintaining intestinal integrity, the production of vitamins, and protection against pathogens. An altered composition or an overgrowth in microorganisms disrupts the body’s homeostasis and can lead to the development of inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and allergies. Identifying the type of dysbiosis is integral whether it be Small Intestinal Bacterial (or Fungal) Overgrowth (SIBO/SIFO) and/or Large Intestinal Bacterial (or fungal) Overgrowth. Parasites and heavy metal toxicity can also exacerbate the problem and cause a vicious cycle of damage, deficiencies, and dis-ease.
This webinar we will provide insights into:
- When general gastrointestinal problems are left untreated (abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhoea and constipation) can lead to malabsorption, nutrient deficiencies, and anaemia. And how this vicious cycle can drive increased lipopolysaccharide (LPS) permeability, chronic inflammation, and result in microbial overgrowth in the gut.
- The complex interplay of dysbiosis, chronic disease development, inflammation, and changes in gut bacteria composition.
- Why identifying SIBO and dysbiosis is essential to managing chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- How altered intestinal anatomy and intestinal motility can impact your protocol success.
- The best ways to test and how do we know what to address first – SIBO, Parasites or commensal bacteria?
- Why metabolic dysfunction comes before gut dysfunction.
- Exploring the damage caused by alcohol, blood sugar deregulation and over the counter prescriptions use in driving gut dysfunction.
- Diet, conventional medicine, naturopathic/nutritional medicine and lifestyle plans for overlapping cases that include Candida, SIBO and Parasites.
