This webinar will explore the strategies to prevent low platelet (thrombocytopenia) and low white blood cell (leukopenia) counts during cancer treatment. Oncologic therapies, such as chemotherapy and radiation, often lead to these hematologic complications, which can increase infection risk, bleeding, and delay treatment schedules. The seminar will focus on a functional medicine approach that emphasizes integrative and holistic strategies, including nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle modifications, and complementary therapies.

By the end of this lecture, the clinician will be able to identify:

Dr. Jean-Jacques Dugoua, affectionately known as Dr. JJ, is a renowned naturopathic doctor, clinical pharmacologist, and pioneering researcher. He’s the Chief Medical Officer at Toronto’s Liberty Clinic and the first naturopathic doctor at Toronto Western Hospital’s Artist Health Center. Holding a PhD in Pharmacy Sciences from the University of Toronto, Dr. JJ’s research includes safety assessments of natural products during pregnancy and groundbreaking diabetes trials, among others.
